About S-MA-C-H

S-MA-C-H (Science & Mechanics in Conservation of Heritage) develops innovative IoT solutions for artwork transport monitoring. Our system combines:

  • Angular Web Application for comprehensive management
  • StaRT Mobile App for on-site transport execution
  • Spring Boot Backend for data processing and API
  • IoT Dataloggers with environmental sensors
  • Keycloak for secure authentication

System Overview

Key Features

For Administrators (Museum/Organization)

  • Manage artwork collections and transport inventory
  • Track datalogger fleet and crate inventory
  • Plan and create transports with sensor configuration
  • Execute transports on-site using StaRT mobile app:
    • Configure dataloggers via Bluetooth
    • Press START to auto-create destinations with GPS + timestamp
    • Press STOP to complete destinations
    • Capture photos before START and after STOP
  • View real-time alerts and historical data
  • Monitor transports remotely via web dashboard

For Super-Admins (S-MA-C-H Experts)

  • Same permissions as Administrators, but for ALL organizations
  • Most likely users of StaRT mobile app for on-site execution
  • All Administrator capabilities:
    • Configure environmental thresholds per transport
    • Execute transports on-site (START/STOP with auto-destination creation)
    • Monitor transports remotely via web dashboard
    • Analyze sensor data and add expert comments
    • Update artwork passports with risk assessments
  • Additional system-wide capabilities:
    • Create and manage organizations
    • Manage datalogger product catalog
    • System configuration

For Viewers (Read-Only Users)

  • View organization's transports (read-only)
  • View real-time alerts and notifications (read-only)
  • View transport history and logs (read-only)
  • No modification or execution permissions
  • No inventory access
